However, using God to somehow treat a mental illness seems a bit absurd. Why not use God to treat a heart attack? Why not allow the pregnant woman to deliver her own baby with the help of God? This interview was a sham from my viewpoint, it did not address what may be a deep clinical depressed person. Again, Iyanta has no professional background in examining people who may suffer from mental illness. I would ask, would you go to Iyanta or God if you were bleeding profusely or to the hospital? I would guess the first thing out of mouth would be, “Oh my God, call 911.” If one pretend that one would do otherwise borders on mythical illusory thinking.

I do not believe that Iyanla was qualified to interview DMX. Yes he did ask for her help but why did no one stop this from taking place? Look at the state of mind he was in…I have watched Iyanla episodes in the past and this was probably the worse one thus far. Clearly DMX needs professional help and in my eyes Iyanla does not fit the description of a professional. She also has a motto; “The only things that goes on in your life are the things that you allow to go on in your life.” I do not agree with this statement.
